This channel began as a way for me to share my craft show experiences and offer advice to others seeking to find success in that arena. I have since discovered how much I enjoy teaching what I know, and my channel is growing into a fun, creative space where I am sharing my love and passion for all things art and handmade!
My goal on all of my platforms is to create a safe space for everyone to explore their creativity.
I am excited to see how this journey will continue and grow and I hope you will join me along the way, while learning some new ways to stretch your own creative skills.
Blessings, and stay creative!
*Side note for curious minds:
The name BohoJouel took a while for me to develop. Even though I love glamour and a bit of glitz, I am a boho, hippie, crunchy mama too! Jouel is a French word meaning "little treasures" and also where the English word jewel came from. I began my business with handmade jewelry of all kinds as well as small gifts, so Bohojouel was born.*

Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes Shawl Pattern
I struggled a little bit with this pattern, but the end result is really pretty! Meanwhile, I will be working on some art and other things as well!

Do a "Wandering Line Drawing" with me
Просмотров 75Месяц назад
I do this style of drawing to calm my ever busy ADHD brain. Sometimes I will spend a day doing these, sometimes as a way to warm up or simply to relieve stress and anxiety. I never plan what the result will be, and instead I work intuitively, letting the lines wander until they feel finished. In some I add color, and some I leave black and white. 2D Art on Etsy: www.etsy.com/shop/artistsandrabe...

I love them small but I cannot get the hang of it I have listened over and over and the corner somehow get rounded instead of square I cannot understand it of course I have not listened to you but for some reason and I got a big spool🎉😢🎉 because I wanted to make numerous ones and I just can't do it
@@charlenecline7793 so if the corners are coming out wobbly, it could just be that you are either adding a stitch or losing one. Try counting stitches and see if that helps. Keep in mind that if your foundation chain is 25, you'll only count 24 on your first row. Hope that helps! Sorry that you're frustrated. Don't give up! ❤️
I am making one with you. I am giving it to my daughter. And making more. Thank you for video.
@leannolson1982 I'm glad you like it! It's about time for me to make some more too. 😊
Like the video but can you just give us the written pattern
@@me_maryam14fatima sure! I'll add it to the description.
How much you ask ? Thanks ❤
@lidasantander2714 I sell them for $4.00 each, but if you plan to sell, take into consideration the yarn you use and how much it costs as well.
i wish i had the creativity i had as a kid. such great ideas, but were shut down for being "silly" or "childish". i'm an artist strugling nowdays :/
@KaiPereira-rb1xw I've seen that happen with kids I've taught. Somewhere around 4th grade they start to really worry about what is "right" or "good" with their ideas and artwork. It's so sad! And shame on adults who do that to them! I'm sorry you went through that. Keep going and eventually you will re-learn to trust your artistic instincts ❤️
Loops and threads cotton is the same as peaches and cream cotton. I find that cotton is rough. I do use the peaches and cream though. Thanks ❤❤

I remember seeing somewhere that said one shouldn't sleep in their resin jewelry. Is this true? Thank you.,
@MarcKrulewitch I would recommend removing jewelry before sleeping. Tossing and turning could tangle chains, and bend pieces on findings.
Definitely helpful thanks!!

I’ve done this stitch and it’s beautiful!
It really is! I'm finding that I like it with different weights and patterns of yarn. Very versatile. ☺️
just found your channel...loving your work. i am just starting out to learn crochet. I can knit and embrodiery but never got into crochet. i found your getting started crochet playlist which is going to be very helpful. i do alot of fibre art etc so i have lots of wool but i buy them from the second hand store so not sure of the weight of the wool etc. do you have a video explaining how to work out the weight of the wool to then work out which size crochet needle to use... many thanks Tania from australia 🙂
That is a great question! I will do some research so that I don't offer any misleading advice, and I'll share soon. Thanks so much! I've bought fabrics and yarn and such from thrift shops too, and they're such a great resource and wonderful way to avoid waste.
Yes, it is therapy for those that are structured for sure! And I love it when things don't match and the artist says, "It is organic like nature... love it!". In other words, accept those things that are not so perfect. 😊 art has taught me great patience. It is amazing how art is so soothing. And if ya mess it up accept it or just start over. No big deal.
Yes! All those things ❤️ Like Bob Ross would say- let the mistakes be happy accidents ☺️
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz hahahaha. You remember watching Bob Ross wayyyy back (like me) ? We didn't have cable back then..we had only 4 channels.. I think he was on PBS 29 wayyyy back. I watched his shows beginning in middle school and still watch his shows when he is on tv today.... so calming.
@user-dn9vd9xg9p Yes! He was wonderful ☺️ PBS!
Looking good
Thank you for doing all of the different examples! You just saved me from doing this!
I'm glad they helped! 😊
Will this work the same with UV resin? Thanks😊
I haven't tried it with UV resin, but I think the technique would work. I suggest trying a few small pieces first and use small amounts of the polish, just in case the components of the UV resin react differently with the polish.
Can we use a lighter for the bubbles with the diamond glaze?
I'm not sure how heat would work since it's more of a glue base rather than resin, where gentle heat can be carefully used. I would be very cautious if you try it- not sure if there are any substances in it that could be flammable! Rather, poke the bubbles with a toothpick before it begins to set to be safe.
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz thanks.
Do you have to use a leveler to make sure it domes evenly?
When I pour it into the bezels, it spreads and levels itself out well. Just be sure that whatever you are working on stays on a flat surface while it's curing so that the glaze doesn't shift. I made that mistake once!
This company has got to redesign the nozzle! If I use a brush on a flat earring as a varnish, does it cause bubbles? Any suggestions on flat earrings that are not in a bezel?
The nozzle is problematic! I have used it on some flat clay pieces using a brush. I actually got more bubbles trying to use the nozzle. I sort of nudge it from the center to the edge, being sure not to go over. It will stay put, but the dome effect is not as intense. Honestly, for my flat pieces I'm going to go back to the Americana Triple Thick Glaze.
I bought new bottles with a really small nozzle i got a 3 pack at dollar store and it works great less messes
@@eliseosaavedra9550 That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Good morning. I just bought the same brand of diamond glaze. By chance how long does it take to dry? Thanks!
It depends on how thick of a coat you apply, but I've noticed that it dries pretty solidly within 4-6 hours.
I used my daughters LED she uses for nails to cure my pieces and OMG works AMAZING ❤
How many rows
I did 19 rows, but I think it's best to check against your mop head as you go, to see if you need an extra row or a row less. There seems to be variants in the mop head sizes, depending on the brand, etc.
I have the same pattern. It is so hard to pull the needle through the fabric. I got 2 of the roses done. I will go back another time to finish this project. It is frustrating. Good luck with yours!❤
Definitely go with your own needle! I think the ones that come with the kit are just a bit flimsy. A better needle makes it much less frustrating 😊
Great Tutorial, no music yaaayyy..You speak so clearly and your instruction are easy to follow...Thank You sooo much for sharing. Gonna go make a ton of them...and have them available to give family and good friends when they visit, just a little something to say; thank you for stopping by to say hello😊🎉
Thanks so much for the kind words! 🥰 I'm so glad you liked the video. Happy creating! I'm sure everyone will appreciate the gifts.
Hi👋, do you have any tips for straight and even stitches? Great explanation btw😊
That's another good question! Honestly though, it comes back to how you hold your work and keeping consistent tension. It can be frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes natural ☺️
Im a tight crocheter just can’t get my tension just right lol i get very frustrated as well lol. This is me with not having enough room to pull thru lol smh. Thanks for this video!! ❤❤😊
Keep playing! I'm glad the video helped ☺️
How do you get your base to not be loose? My base always looks holey and I don’t know what to do 😭
Keep practicing! It's all about getting comfortable with the tension of the yarn. Try making the starting chain a little tighter than you usually do. If it's too tight, you can always try again. I find that getting the tension consistent is always everyone's biggest struggle. (It was mine too for a long time!)
So I've been thinking about this and decided that I'm gonna do a video with some tips! Don't get discouraged! ❤️ I'm heading to the craft store in a bit for provisions.
Very pretty!
Thanks!
Hi thanks for the video I'm going to try this! I just want to share also that I use glass cabochons for some projects and when I get glue, paint, or any adhesive on the front I clean it off very easily with a Q-tip and 100% Acetone or even regular nail polish remover! Sometimes if it's regular nail polish remover I have to then use rubbing alcohol to remove any residue from possible moisturizer etc. in the remover.
Those are great tips! Thanks for sharing!
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz very welcome! that's why I love the glass cabochons so much - I find them very forgiving to my mistakes!
Thank you...great ideas
Glad it helped!
Hello 👋 yes i make dishcloth s washcloths and potholed to.
That's awesome!
What size is a good size for a baby wash clothes
Standard washcloths are usually around 12"x12", so that would work, or you could make it smaller for babies (maybe 10x10"). Honestly, whatever you like! 😊
If I have any suggestions? I was hoping you had it all figured out and were going to show me! For me shipping is the bane of my ADHD existence. Pick up the product look for bubble wrap find bubble wrap forget where I put the product go and look for box spend 5 minutes finding product. Box and seal item, realize I forgot to enclose note I wrote to buyer, redo everything. Weight item 3 times because I keep forgetting weight , you get the drift. Now I package everything immediately after I list it. Still takes forever but I don't end up in tears thinking I'm gonna miss the postman . Hey what's your shop?
Lol! I will never claim to have it all figured out 😂 Packing and shipping is a lot! I will share a video on my system and it might help someone a bit, though even with my system I find it stressful for sure. I'm always paranoid that I'm going to mess something up. I have 2 Etsy shops. One for artwork and the other for jewelery. www.etsy.com/shop/bohojouel www.etsy.com/shop/artistsandrabelz Prepackaging items is an interesting idea! What do you make?
I am self taught crocheter. I am going to use sugar and cream plus scrubby yarn.
That sounds like a good idea! Let me know how it turns out. 😊
Very cool. Nice work. Do you know if it can't be sanded?
Usually the 2 part resin doesn't need to be sanded and my experience has been that it's not necessary. But I believe that the epoxy resins often need to be sanded and polished.
One more question: how good does it hold on to wood? If I pour into into a shallow groove in wood, would it just fall out if tipped forward, or would it hold on to the wood? Because I want it to stay in the wood. In other words I'm not using the wood as a mold, but as a permanent holder. @@BohoJouelSandraMBelz
@@leestringer Of course!
I like this will be making some for our Christmas boxes at church ❤
I love the washcloth stich, it's great for me because of how my hands shake 🙃. My son and daughter-in-law are expecting ♊ twins 😊. I love to buy a nice price of fennel and crochet a border on the outside. Do you have any ideas that might be different? They are having a boy & girl🎉.
That's exciting and congratulations to all of you! ❤️ I'm glad that this stitch works well for you. A border would be pretty on these.
I'm sorry I must not have been clear, I buy a yard of flannel and make a blanket. I was wondering if you might have a border I could crochet around the outside of the fabric?
@DawnPierce-bp7gn Oh I see! I have a tutorial for a shell border stitch. This might work if you can sew it to the edges of the blanket? ruclips.net/video/ZRXPmohhiiM/видео.htmlsi=Fo7gw1DpEf9V6_mZ
Thank you enjoy your patterns
Do u have a name for this stitch or pattern.
To get it raised you have to add more coats of diamond glaze to your pendants and put it on pretty thick. I do not spread! I usually start from the outside edges and spiral into the center. And whatever you do, do not shake, tap or rattle the bottle or you WILL get bubbles.
I was about to say this. The glaze was domed and she flattened it.
Pretty
Thanks!
I❤❤❤❤ spider 🕸️ man ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
He's always been one of my favorites too! ❤️
Hi, I am new to using Triple Thick. When I apply the glaze sometimes it looks like there's cracks also I get alot of bubble's do you have any ideas that can help me with these 2 problems?
I would say that if you're getting a lot of bubbles, make sure that you're not shaking the glaze or stirring it too much. Apply in thin coats, rather than going too thick on the first coat. I've never had cracks to happen, so I'm wondering if maybe that could also be solved with thinner applications? I hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing. I have been listening to Sarah Humphrey on RUclips and have learned a lot. Have fun
I will have to go check her out. I am still so new to embroidery and wanting to learn. Thanks!
sorry i was skipping through to find where i needed so i apologise if you did cover this, but why does the kit tell you to cut the floss to 18 inches, do you really have to do that? lol
I think that the floss is so long it's possible it might tangle as you work with it. So I'm guessing that cutting it to that length will make it easier to work with. But that's just my thought. ☺️ So ultimately, I don't think it's absolutely necessary, but more up to each person.
Your Art blocks are WONDERFUL and I'm sure you are going to sell a lot... all over the WORLD! 🙂 I just sent away for my starter kit and am VERY excited about being part of this extraordinary concept. My expertise is as a 'Narrative Collage Architect / Surreal Imagery Design. All of my pieces are large, so to think of something so tiny... well, I'm still trying to figure it out... but I'm CLOSE! LOL The boxes will work best for Me and what I end up creating will stand on tiny acrylic frames (they JUST fit in the box... whew!), which I've purchased for this purpose. I'm VERY excited about this - the places that our Art will reach - it's just remarkable and FUN! I wish you ALL the best! Have FUN! 🙂
Thanks so much! And I hope to see some of your finished pieces, have fun with thr process!
Just found this video. Love it! My son and his wife are having their first child so I'm going to start making these baby washcloths. Don't know the sex yet so working with yellow variegated yarn. Thx
